WORKSHOP ON SWATCH BHARAT MISSION GRAMEEN AND JAL JEEVAN MISSION HELD

Panaji: Centre For Environment Education (CEE) as the State lead for Goa under Rural Wash Partner’s Forum (RWPF) of the DDWS, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India organized a brainstorming workshop on Swatch Bharat mission Grameen and Jal Jeevan Mission for the State officials of Goa from the Directorate of Panchayats and Public Works Department yesterday. The workshop was chaired by the Shri. Menino D’Souza, IAS, Secretary, Government of Goa.

The workshop had several engaging sessions focusing on aspects such as FSM, Source Sustainability, Water Quality Management, Capacity Building and Skilling, Grey Water Management etc. These sessions were delivered by experts from organizations such as UNICEF, Water Aid, Tata Trust, INREM, Aga Khan Foundation, Wash Institute, Piramal Foundation, AIILSG, and India Sanitation Coalition. The workshop was attended by more than 75 participants from various organizations like CSE, Goa Mineral Foudation, Pan india, and officers from the Director of Panchayats, and PWD department, Govt of Goa.

The workshop provided a platform for initiating dialogue on various key issues concerning the Jal Jeevan Mission and Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0. The discussion gave an opportunity to understand how the state and the RWPF thematic leads could work collaboratively towards achieving the desired goals under JJM and SBM 2.0 for the state of Goa with 191 Panchayats. The program was facilitated by Prabhjot Sodhi Sr Program Director CEE and Tavishi Darbari CEE.
