PANAJI: President of Goa Sports Foundation Roque Dias, Patron-in-Chief Vero Nunes along with Mr Tony Fernandes MLA and Chairman of Santa-Cruz Sports Complex met CM with a Draft Scheme to identify Goan talent for 2036 Olympics.
While at SAI, Dias illustrated that after interacting with the World Sports Scientists in UK, in the year 2011 on the direction of Govt. of India, Dias had launched an ambitious scheme in preparation of the Indian Teams for 2020 Olympics. India has qualified in 126 slots for Tokyo Olympics. Out of which, 15 have been qualified in shooting- the highest ever, after the introduction of Yoga in the scheme.
The proposed draft scheme for Goa will be similar to which Dias had implemented in the year 2011 in preparation of Indian team for 2020 Olympics.
The village sports complex at Santa-Cruz has been proposed as the hub to identify talents for 2036 Olympics on scientific lines like China & USA
Based on Dias request, CM directed Secretary Education & Sports Secretary to get reactions from all Principals of the schools and State Sports Associations on the scheme before showing the
